Water Damage

Our goal at ServiceMaster by Rapid Response is to help return your home or business to its pre-loss condition as soon as possible.  No one expects a sudden water loss to be as destructive and disruptive as it is, but with our experience we will help to minimize the damage and inconvenience.

Identify the Source

Water Damage RepairFirst, it is most important to determine the source of the water and/or moisture which is causing water damage to your home or business.  It may be necessary to turn off the water main to the structure until a professional can come out and repair the source of the water break.

Evaluate the Damage

It is critical to have our highly skilled technicians come out to your home or business to evaluate the damage as soon as possible.  Waiting for even a day or two can substantially increase the amount of damage and subsequently the cost to complete the water damage restoration.  Water will flow through the path of least resistance which includes traveling underneath floor coverings, walls, cabinetry, and other building materials.  It will travel upwards inside wall cavities, as well as downwards through ceilings to lower floors below.  You may not be able to see the path of the water flow, but with each hour that passes the water will cause more and more damage to your home or business.

Our qualified technicians will come out to your home or business and provide you with an initial estimate to begin the drying out process.  While every water loss is unique, many factors must be considered in the drying process.  Location, duration of the leak, source of water, type of building materials, weather conditions and how fast emergency service began are all contributing factors. A rule of thumb for the drying process is typically 3-4 days.

Water Damage RepairAnother important factor which must be considered is the type of water involved.  If a loss involves clean water then we can remove wet materials, extract the water, treat and dry the affected areas.  When there is black water involved (i.e. – sewage, flood water, etc.) we must remove all contaminated materials and the process is much more involved.

While the drying out process is not pleasant for any homeowner or business owner to experience, we will treat your structure and damaged contents with the utmost care.  Drying equipment can be inconvenient and unpleasant.  Removing baseboards and drywall may be temporarily unsightly. Removing floor coverings may be unexpected and expensive.  However, these may all be necessary measures to properly dry your home or business.  Please keep in mind that it is a temporary situation.  Again, our goal at ServiceMaster by Rapid Response is to return your home or business to its pre-loss condition as soon as possible by providing you with the best service at a reasonable price.

Payment

In many cases, water damage claims may be covered by your insurance policy.  It is best to contact your insurance carrier to determine if coverage may apply to your loss.  We work with all insurance companies should you have a covered loss under your homeowners or commercial policy.  Ultimately, you the property owner are responsible for the payment.
